The "Fall Roll Out" car show emerged from a conversation held by Barry Walters, Terry Durnan and Carle Robbins about the basic formats of car shows. The consensus of opinion was why should car show vehicle owners have to pay up to $25 to show their antique, classic and street rod cars. The idea was to have no entrance fee for show cars and ask a $2 donation from spectators. It was agreed to have a business plan made up by Kiwanis member, Carle Robbins, and present it to the Riegelsville Kiwanis Club. They overwhelmingly liked the plan and allocated $400 to start the show. The key to starting a new event is having the right name and promotion, promotion, promotion! Four hundred dollars was not enough to promote effectively. The Fall Roll Out committee hit the streets to find promotional help. Printing costs, posters, banners, brochures, etc. were all donated. Oldies 99 radio station helped us with free commmercials. Twenty sponsors donated money for tee and sweat shirts and awards to be given out at the show. The theme of the show was "the last fall roll out before winter". With our fingers crossed the first "Fall Roll Out" took place on the first Sunday in November, 1990. We expected 200 cars and many spectators to enjoy a day filled with music, food, car vendors, great cars, awards and door prizes. Over 350 cars participated. The shows now attracts over 500 cars. Due to limited space, another 100 cars line the street leading into the show. We have over 80 car vendors. Every year the show is on the first Sunday in November. Bring your entire family for an enjoyable day and a chance to support the children of our community!
